Engrish I have seenSome people see Engrish.com and say 'oh, I'm sure Japan isn't THAT bad', or 'I bet they fake them with photoshop!'...The truth is that the stuff on Engrish.com is entirely factual. I've not only seen some of the things from there in real life, but also some new ones you won't have seen or heard.
Names of shops I've seen:
"The New Life shop" (a grocery store in Kyoto)
"Piggy Hair" (For some reason, the people I was with didn't find this nearly as funny as I did. I just keep thinking of Miss Piggy getting her hair done. It's a hairdresser's in central Nagoya)
"Fat Time Hair Make" (Appropriately situated by a big icecream shop in Hiroshima, this had us falling about laughing.)
"Tattoo Boobies" (No, seriously. In central Nagoya there is a tattoo parlour called 'Tattoo Boobies', they must wonder why all the exchange students take photos in front of their sign!)
Best T-shirt slogan I've seen so far:
"Ravishing Virgin"
Shirt I actually own:
"Rock on!! MODESTY. Your which is good!?" (I totally dig this crazy shirt)
Food Packaging:
"We bring you the taste of wind in spring meadows" (caption off a packaged sandwich).
"Dericious Sandwich" (obviously another sandwich, funnily from the same shop, but a totally different brand!)
